Here's An Easy Way To Find Polar Trends Before Anyone Else Does

The aim of this article is to teach you how to find polar trends before anyone else does.

Method 1: The neologism dictionary method

The following dictionaries are good at picking up neologisms before anyone else does:

  • Tiktokdictionary
  • Bloxicon
  • Easypedia
  • Urbandictionary

I’m not sponsored by any of the above, but long story short, these 4 sites are quite good at picking up on neologisms while there isn’t much hype behind them.

Many of these neologisms do turn out to be polar trends with huge RFCI scores and potential.

Method 2: Offline word of mouth mentions

In my opinion, sometimes the strongest signals of polar trends are not even online - they’re in person!

People say that polar trends originate from small niches online….and while that’s partially true. If you really think about it, most polar trends actually originate IRL via word of mouth likely before they even get online.

So the trick is to find out what people are talking about IRL. Try to pick up on certain topics that people are mentioning repeatedly. It does not need to be explicit and direct.

Method 3: Reddit and the internet

Try to pick up on what people are mentioning repeatedly online in small communities. Like niche groups of tiktokers, reddit communities etc…

Log all this in a spreadsheet.

If you notice that a common topic is being talked about a lot in one group and is starting to be talked about a lot elsewhere as well, chances are, this might be a polar trend.

Note, this will take hours of dedication everyday, but it is SO worth it if you pick up on a polar trend.

See the image below - it shows a tiktok comment section from early 2025 before the peptide boom (peptides were mainstream before but not like how it is now).

If you picked up on signals like this - repeated comments, you could pick up on the polar trend early on.

How to check if it is a polar trend.

2 major factors that determine this:

  1. Evidence of increasing popularity - so much so that it is breaking out of it’s niche.
  2. Evidence of being early.

If those 2 are true, then you have found a polar trend.
